Getting Healthy

I'm probably one of the last few people on earth who would exercise. I know it's good for me, I know what it would do for my body, I just needed something to kick me in the behind and say let's go girl!

Well, that something was me! I started pinning away last week and found the Tone It Up girls. If you haven't visited their site and you are a girly girl like me, then you need to go there like now!

Their workouts are fun and really make you sore the next day, which is a good thing!  They offer some recipes and meals but for the most part you have to pay. Which I would like to get their nutritional plan once I start my public school job. I'm kind of low on the funds remember.

Anyway, every morning I wake up and do about 3 sets of their workouts. Today I did 2 because it only required me to do so.  After my workout, I make myself a shake made with natural fruit and orange juice or almond milk.  I add protein powder into my mix and that's basically my breakfast. It fills me up for about 2 1/2 hours then I'm ready for a light snack.

For lunch today I made myself a spinach and egg-white only omelet with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. So before I started to get all health crazy, I hadn't finished my unhealthy white bread, but I didn't want to waste it. So I ate it with that, I know, don't kill me!  I also added some baby carrots and grape tomatoes. :)

I'm also going to put a picture of things I purchased that the Tone It Up girls mentioned in their recipes..check it out

It says to use natural oranges but I figure Simply Orange was the closest thing to "natural", plus it has no preservatives!

So that's my story for now, working out and trying to get fit. I want to maintain the weight I have now because I'm happy with it, I just want to be toned. :) Wish me luck!

Photo Editor!

I have always wanted to play around with my photos and make them all cool looking like I see in other blogs and I've finally found out how to do it!!!

Anyway if you go here The Nest Effect there is an easy and quick tutorial on how to edit your photos.

I was playing around with one I posted last night just for fun and look at it....

It's gorgeous and Instagram doesn't have anything on me!!

Okay that's enough of me bragging about photos...time to be productive!

It's Windy Out

There is crazy wind over here in the DFW area tonight.  It's so bad it seems like someone is trying to force themselves into my apartment.  No joke!

I have been neglecting this little blog because I have been busy doing other things like lounging on my couch, taking naps, reading. All the stuff I don't get to do during the school year.

That's all going to change soon because Wednesday I go in to fill out paperwork for my new job and then I will hopefully be able to get my hands on my "new" classroom.

I wanted to show you a few pics of things that have either been given to me and one thing I did purchase on Etsy...I LOVE IT!

I also bought B this great Wisconsin poster for his b-day. It's in the shape of Wisconsin but inside of it is the names of many cities found within that state. It's seriously so cute and I totally know he wasn't expecting it.  But since he loves Wisconsin so much and he just got his apt. I just had to get it for him.

Okay sorry, I tend to get wordy....So let me get those pictures.

One of my students gave this to me on the last day of school. It's perfect and it's Disney!

I cannot tell you how much I love this perfume. Even B loves it and he hates perfume. It's worth it. The picture underneath is what it looks like out of the box.

I had to clean out my old classroom and I had mostly everything thrown into this IKEA bag. Well I organized it yesterday it it looks much better, trust me! I still have tons of stuff in my trunk and back seat...blah!

Here are the cash envelopes I purchased on Etsy.  I paid $27 for shipping and everything.  She personalizes them for you and everything! You can go to Divvy Up to get your very own. Also, please excuse my toes! Ha ha!

She personalizes your wallets to fit your needs..mine says "Have Some Fun"...:)

Lastly, they have a little magnet on each side but you can't see it, so all the envelopes stick together or remove as necessary!!!
Also I found what I bought B for his birthday, WISCONSIN Collage State Print (Customize or Choose Your Own State) cute right? Click on the picture to go to their shop.  Speedy service too!

Those are all my wonderful pictures for the evening.  I hope you enjoy them.  :)

I don't really know what's on my agenda for tomorrow. B is out of town (again) because he is attending some unit planning thing at ND. Then from there he goes back home and will drive back down with his family. So it will be nice to see them. :) But that's not for another 2 weeks :( BOO!

Alright, I think I should get some sleep...see ya!

Oh This New Thing

I have decided to start this new blog about my life. I know it's nothing that probably interests anyone but I enjoy blogging very much. It's given me a chance to "meet" great people and just educate myself in a variety of topics.

I am going to try my best to blog about what's going on in my life and see if I can blog about great deals that I snag, saving money, getting out of debt (great goal), and just all the other stuff in between.

I don't want this to be a teaching blog...that's why I have, Teaching Little Apples.

Okay on to more important things...:)

Summer vacation began as of 11 something A.M. on Friday...school is out and I am in vacay mode.  I mean technically us teachers go back on Tuesday for paperwork and such but that doesn't count right?  Well since I'm on vacation, I have decided to reexamine myself as a person. Where am I going in life? I need to save! I need to get in better shape and eat better.  Things we all say we are going to do but never get around to doing it because we make excuses for ourselves.  Well I am going to start with "baby steps".  I know how I am and if I overwhelm myself, I will quit.  That's just the way I roll. Sad, but true.  I want to stick with the changes I've decided to make and try to be a better person at the same time.

Yesterday, it was do something free Saturday. I went to the library with my mom and picked up some budget books along with movies.  It's free, entertaining, and educational! Can't beat that!

I also worked on my budget for my next pay period. Talk about stressful, painful, kick in the stomach, reality! My "homework" was to add up all my store/online purchases for the last three months. You could do six months but my brain was already on overload.  After much math crunching, I spent $1,660 on crap!! That doesn't include fixed bills people!! I have been careless with MY money.  I'm just going to sit here for a minute and think what I could have doing with $1,600 dollars (still thinking and getting depressed). Yes, I know I need to eat and things of that sort, but I didn't need to spend $18 at Panera, seriously, there is something very wrong with this picture. If you haven't done something like this, I highly suggest it.  It's a nice kick in the ass to get you on track.

I am going to rework my budget again today and give myself way less spending money than I originally had planned. I don't need to reward myself with clothes, food, and dollar store goodies. I have lots of clothes that I can deal with for the time being.  What I need to do is save for my emergency fund and pay down my debt.  Let's not even go there with my other fixed bills :\.

Moving on...

This morning, I went for a jog...I'm really lucky actually. I literally live in front of a decent sized lake with great running trails.  P.S. Those ducks are always in or around my parking lot. They are cute though and travel in 2-3 packs.

I ran jogged around the lake once, okay, okay, I walked a little bit too.  Remember I said baby steps! You don't need to kill yourself to get into shape.  These things take time and dedication. We'll see how much I can do tomorrow morning.  I rather get my workouts in early because it's cooler and by the evening I'm way too lazy to go outside.  Plus it's Texas, so you now it's a billion degrees outside.

Love life...
On my other blog I refer to my bf as Prince Charming...let's just call him B on here.  B is out of town this weekend but he'll be back tomorrow. I miss him when he's not around he's my best friend and I couldn't have asked for anyone better.  We just get each other and make each other laugh because we share the same sense of humor.  It's beautiful. :)

This coming Friday is our one year anniversary. Although I feel like I've known him forever, I can't believe a year went by so quickly!!  We have a wedding to go to that day because a friend of mine is getting married. I haven't been to a wedding since I was 12. So it should be fun.

I think it's time for me to start thinking about lunch. Healthy lunch!! Pita bread and broccoli dip..mmm..with a side of fresh fruit and water...sounds yummy right?

Okay have a happy Sunday and a great Memorial Day!!!
